Problem

Ricebowl wanted to have a fun AR Effect that can be used in Instagram to engage with their audience.  The users will have to use the AR Effect and challenge themselves to read the prepared Chinese texts within time limit!

This project was done on SparkAR Studio as it was meant to be published in Instagram. The end results is an AR Effect that can be used as a challenge by users – where they have to read the prepared Chinese texts within 10 seconds, and see how fast they can do it. The effect has two parts – some of the components are viewable during recording (e.g. finish button to indicate completion) and most components are viewable in the resulting shareable video.

My Role

Most of the assets were already prepared by the clients with the exception of the animated texts ( simple credit roll animation), ticking digital time (countdown animation). I made sure that the game logic works, that the filter looks great in whichever device (responsive) and optimize the size to less than 2MB for Instagram usage.
